The Method
Westbourne Grove
This Notting Hill project combined commercial and residential flooring works, with detailed subfloor preparation and bespoke timber installations throughout. Subfloor build ups included supply and installation of latex, insulation, dry screed board with perimeter strips, plywood and acoustic underlay. The Meditation, Dance and Pilates Studios featured a New Era Unobot cradle-and-batten undercarriage, creating sprung floors suitable for use.
Across the commercial spaces, 100m² of white solid oak planks were installed in the meditation and Pilates studios, alongside 75m² of black solid oak planks, sanded and bespoke finished on site with Black tinted Bona Traffic HD Matt Lacquer, within the dance studio. A further 60m² of solid oak herringbone was installed throughout the members’ lounge and lobby, creating a cohesive and considered finish across the communal areas.
The residential element comprised 140m² of Prime Grade 300mm wide Engineered Oak Planks installed across three apartments, as well as communal hallways, landings, and staircases. Bespoke nosings, treads and risers were crafted to architectural design drawings and installed on site, ensuring seamless transitions between levels and finishes. The combination of contrasting oak tones, varied laying patterns and detailed stairwork created a refined, cohesive flooring scheme across both the commercial and residential spaces.
